A Silent Cry

This poem was written 3/7/2004

A cry goes unheard in the night

It’s a child feeling lost and alone,

Hurt from another fight

Another painful day

Ridiculed and belittled to the point of giving up

A cut here and a slice there

The blood flows,

The pain sears and burns

The blade is crimson

The cry is released

Still unheard the child cries

The physical pain is more bearable

More capable then the emotional

The cry continues

Once again it gets covered up,

It goes unnoticed

A needed comfort is not received

The bleeding stops and life goes on.

Another day down,

Just a few thousand more to go.

Tomorrow is another day

A day of torment and sorrow
